Have you ever had something you started run away from you? We experience this often in our lives. Our core experience right now comes from our beloved cousin Cora Lou.
Cora is an extremely bright and imaginative favorite cousin of our oldest son. She hung the moon in his eyes, and the sun and stars! Our first indicator was when she made up a word for horses, calling them, "chochys". She went on to never say that again, but my son just now has let it go over 3 years later. I could not convince him that a horse was actuaully called a horse. It was a "chochy".
Moving along to our most recent family get together where Cora glorifies the word "poop" once or twice. She goes on with her normal life, but 6 months later my two older boys say "poop", "poopy", "poopy head", so much that we started to have to make rules about it.
They even found a potty song through our alexa device, memorized the many words and sing it 100 times a day. They also take other melodies they like "I'm in the Lords Army" and "Apples and Bananas", and substitute the words with just saying "poo poo" for the whole song.
This dominates our life to such a degree that we had to make rules. Our line is not saying "poop" or any variations, at the table.
What are some silly rules that you have to make for your family for a season?
